US news: Jimmy Kimmel Live footage, Venue upgrades + Chart news

2012-02-10 15:36 by Kate

Howdy partners, there's a lot of news coming out of the US this week.

Gotye and Kimbra made their US television debuts when they performed 'Somebody That I Used To Know' on Jimmy Kimmel Live. If you missed it the first time around, or wish to view it again, you can do so here

Wally had this to say about the performance: "That was a goodun! Thanks to all those Los Angelesians who came out for the filming, and cheers to the audio guys from Jimmy Kimmel for being very accommodating. Still can't work out why I really, REALLY needed a Bud Light after that performance though."

We are pleased to announce two more venue upgrades (pre-purchased tickets are valid for new venues):

Tuesday, April 3 - Chicago, IL @ Aragon Ballroom (formerly Riviera) - Tickets on sale 10am CST Feb 11

Wednesday, April 4 - Minneapolis, MN @ Epic (formerly Varsity Theatre) - Tickets on sale noon CST Feb 10

Making Mirrors saw its official release in the US last week. This means the physical copy is now available at all good record stores and Amazon, and digitally via iTunes. A big thank you to everyone who has purchased the 'Somebody That I Used To Know' single and/or the Making Mirrorsalbum digitally already.

In US chart news, 'Somebody That I Used To Know' moved up from #31 to #27 on the singles chart, whilst Making Mirrors jumped from #45 to #20 on the albums chart to be this week's Greatest Gainer. We're all very happy about these numbers!

And finally, Gotye's whirlwind trip to the US came to an end after his show at Bowery Ballroom in New York this week. Gotye and band will be back in late March to start a run of shows around the country with Kimbra (yes, that Kimbra!). Hopefully we'll see you then.

Bye for now,

Gotye HQ
