New Gotye single- Eyes Wide Open
2010-10-03 19:28 by Wally
It’s been a while, hasn’t it! Thought I’d just jump straight in with some eye candy there- the artwork above is from my first single in ages, which will be released shortly. It’s called Eyes Wide Open and it’s the first thing from the album I’ve been working on for the last year and a half
Eyes Wide Open will premiere on Australia’s Triple J radio, next Tuesday October 12 on the breakfast show. That will be sometime after 7:30am (Australian Eastern Standard Time). You can stream it online here
The song will then be available for a limited time as a free download from right here at gotye.com
In addition, I’ve put together a special Eyes Wide Open 10” vinyl EP. It will have a couple of exclusive b-sides which won’t be available online, as well as a remix of the single by one of my favourite bands PVT (formerly Pivot).
This will be a very limited vinyl release, only 500 copies. All will be hand-numbered, signed and dedicated (at your request) if you pre-purchase from the Gotye store. The vinyl will be available for pre-purchase next Tuesday at the same time as the free download of Eyes Wide Open (so's you can determine whether it's a gem or junk)
Cuter than a 12”, and heftier than a 7”, the EP plays at 33 1/3, so don’t miss out on a chance to totally ruin your LP/45 filing system with an odd-size record!
In other news...uh, wait. No that’s it for the moment. NEW SONG! Yesss.
Watch this space for news about the film clip for Eyes Wide Open and other goodies coming out soon
Also, if you signed up for the Gotye newsletter over the last few years with just an email address, perhaps you can do me the favour of signing up again with a little more info (your country and postcode for instance...so I don’t bother you with stuff that isn’t relevant to where you live). Don’t worry- you won’t end up on the list twice. The glorious power of the innernett will ensure that your details are updated, not duplicated
Oh yeah...there is a bit more stuff- I’m on Twitter now, and there’s a Facebook page, Soundcloud etc (no tracks up there yet, but there’s a lot of ambition there!).
The website will reveal all....[please imagine a little puff of smoke and a hand revolving three clear glass balls around in its palm when reading that last line]
Hoping you’re all well. I’m looking forward to getting this new Gotye music out there and seeing you soon for some live shenanigans
