The nominations for the 2012 Australian Record Industry Association (ARIA) awards were announced yesterday and Gotye has been nominated in the following categories this year; Album of the Year, Best Male, Best Pop Release and Best Australian Live Act. The award for Best Australian Live Act is voted by the public and you can cast your vote here

Some of the pointy trophies were given out before the official awards ceremony on 29 November in Sydney, and Gotye's album Making Mirrors picked up two; Best Cover Art and Engineer of the Year. A big congratulations goes out to Wally and Frank (Wally's Dad) for their work on the cover art, and to Francois Tetaz for his outstanding job engineering the record.
