Gotye to play Coachella and #1 in Germany

Howdy folks, and happy twelves!
Thank you to everyone who came to the last 2011 Aussie shows I played with my 10-piece band. The Belvoir Amphitheatre, Hobart Botanical Gardens and festivals over New Year's were all fabulous. Maybe you remember this little tune we played around with? It's a swell number.
Yesterday the lineup for the fantastic Coachella Music & Arts Festival in California was announced. And I'm playing it! The festival is set to take place over two weekends in April. View the full lineup here
I had some amazing news over Christmas- 'Somebody That I Used To Know' was the number 1 single in Germany, and it's currently spending its second week at that spot! I can't wait to play in Berlin and Cologne again, and visit Hamburg and Munich for the first time in a few years.
Now's a good time to remind you that voting in the triple j Hottest 100 closes on Monday 16 January. 'Somebody That I Used To Know' is one of the many tracks off the Making Mirrors record eligible for this year's poll. I'm hoping maybe personal favourite 'State Of The Art' gets a guernsey too. Votes can be cast here
Finally, you might have already seen Walk Off The Earth's cover of 'Somebody That I Used To Know'. Five people, one guitar. A brilliant cover and video. It's already "gone viral" (8.5 million views in a matter of days!) so you might want to consider putting on one of those little Japanese face masks. I love those.

Following two sold out shows in London earlier this year, Gotye will celebrate the release of Making Mirrors in the UK with an intimate show at Wilton's Music Hall on 13th February 2012.
We have some exciting news for those folks heading along to the Perth shows at Belvoir Amphitheatre in December. Having just released their ARIA top 40 debut album to much critical acclaim, Big Scary will be sure to delight those arriving early.
Just a reminder tickets for the Perth show on Monday 12th December are still on sale through Ticketmaster
And one final note before signing off, Gotye has received 7 nominations at this year's ARIA Awards - having already won 3 pre-show, he is up for Best Male Artist, Best Pop Release, Single of the Year and Highest Selling Single on the night.
Australian viewers can tune in for all the action from 7:30pm AEST this Sunday night on Go!
